OPENBOX S9 - How to record without EPG?

Hi:
Is there a way to set the date and time on a Openbox S9 to record a show? I can set a timer for duration, but that only works for the current program. There is no "date" or "Hour of day" function for programming a future recording. This is for cases where EPG data does not exist. Perhaps one of the firmware version fixes this?

all receivers had the timer record function since day one.
try the timer selection in the menu
