Hi,

Are there any cooling fans someone can recommend for my DL T5? I prefer something without usb, as I have a HDD plugged into the unit.

Thanks...

Try a laptop cooler (no internal mods needed), I use one from Antec, you just set the reciver on top of it, it is very quiet, I also used an external USB wall charger for a cell phone to power it. <br />

I bought one from fleabay with LEDs for under $10 delivered. Sits under the unit and it does plug into the usb but then you can plug another usb item into it. Fan turns on and off with the receiver.

Do you remember the brand?

Well it says notebookdesk on the fan itself and was about 8 bucks....The LEDs don't last too long though and they have other ones that are without lights and less than 5 bucks delivered.
Look in your mail and Ill send ya a link to the last one I bought.

Thanks ordered a few. Is it best to place these on top of the unit or under?

under the unit would be best. Its not a huge issue IMO. I have had a dlhd on for 3 years and a t5 on for over a year and a half with no fan

Yeah, noticed it didn't run that hot anyways but since I had the fan already, why not put it underneath just in case.

Only time mine runs hot and begins to pixlelate is when I'm recording or during playback from the eternal usb drive.

Not to highjack here but I was wondering if solid state was maybe the way to go to reduce the usb drain?
