Ok. I have a sonicview premier 360 that I haven't used in the last 3 years I guess. I think I did buy the iHub but never got to use it since I got free cable when I moved. Now I moved again and was wondering if this receiver still works to open dish channels. Or what FTA receiver do you guys recommend that has good support.

Thanks in advance!

It does still work and in my opinion very well for sd channels...if it were me I would hook it to the iHub and see what file version is loaded on the receiver and then use the wizloader to see what version is loaded on the iHub...then you would have a better idea of what files need to be updated if any.

I just connected the receiver but don't remember how to get the version I have... and actually, I thought I had a iHub but what I have says New Link. What should I do if you can help me out.

the receiver says P13... wasn't able to find the wizloader to download... any link? also found a post saying it's possible to emulate the ihub?

nevermind... found wizloader and connected new link. says version 1.3 and receiver P13. Is there something I can do to get it running?

Thanks!

I'm having to work my brain with this one lol...been a while. As far as I know the emulator no longer works...the link for the wizloader is located here:
http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?119847-WIZ-v3-0-2

If memory serves me right you have the 211 loaded on your receiver which updated your newlink to version 1.3...now I've been looking threw my old cd where I have all my files and update procedures for the 360P and from my read you will need to get your newlink back to version 1.2 and then you can update it to 4.3 which will turn it into a svlan...then you can load the p2028 file which is the file you will need on the receiver and it will also update the svlan to version 4.12. The problem is I'm rusty with this because it has been so long and you have to be careful and not screw up the iHub all at the same time. I'll keep looking to see but I think that is the way you will need to go. I have the files and procedures to do it and can post if you want to give it a go...it would be your call.

lol I see you figured it out while I was typing slow.

well.... everything was sitting there getting dust... I will give it a shot if you can post the files. In the worst of the cases, I was thinking on buying a new fta receiver... which I don't know which one is good at the moment. if it's HD better. But want to try the files first... I will appreciate it... also, I guess I will need and IKS server... where can I find a good one? not sure if you can mention them.

thanks

I will go to sleep. If you get to find the files and procedures on how to get back the I hub to 1.2 and then to 4.3 I will appreciate it.

Thanks

You can try to load the file in the link below with the wizloader but I doubt it will load with out taken the newlink back to a previous version but you never know it may work:
http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?135086-Dongle-Version-4-12-FW

This the file you will need you will need at the end on the receiver...again you could try and load it on the receiver and see if it will update the newlink once you plug it in but the chances are slim:
http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?119604-Sonicview-Premier-p28-rom-CCE-fix-May-05-2012
The two methods above would be the easy route if they would work.

Below are the update and reverse procedure I had stored on my old cd...all the files needed should be in the zip file I will post a link to below...the brick procedure may not be needed but I'm including it anyway...can't remember whether that was needed to be done first or not before converting the newlink over to a svlan...you may can just go straight to the svlan conversion and skip the brick procedure. Once you have svlan version 4.3 on the iHub you should be able to load the p2028 file on the receiver and it should update the iHub to the 4.12 version and all should be good. Again I'm going on memory on some of this stuff and it has been a while...the text procedures will be included in the zip file as well...good luck.

Conversion of Ihub 2.3 or Newlink 1.3 to prior versions

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The conversion process is very simple;

1-You will need access to a SV Premier,
2-load Premiere_svlan_special_v99.rom into the receiver,
3-Power off and attach your Ihub or Newlink,
4-Power on, then USB load newlink_usb_v12.rom, don't worry it loads on either hub
5-Run wiznet if you have a 2.3 hub and then load ROM0100.bin (or try ihub_V2_2.bin)
6-Run wiznet, load ihub_V2_2.bin onto your former 2.3 Ihub (Newlink is already at the correct version 1.2)

End C/P

How to upgrade your iHub or NewLink to SvLan

If you have loaded the latest file for the IHub or NewLink

You will need:
Wiznet on your desktop
Premier Receiver
USB Thumb Drive
svlan_usb_wiznet File
Premier_svlan_special_99 file
svlan_v43 File

1) On the thumb drive have the Premier_svlan_special_99 file and svlan_usb_wiznet files.
2) On the 360 Premier STB load the Premier_special_99 File as S/W upgrade.
3) Let it flash and reboot attach your iHub or NewLink.
4) Load the svlan_usb_wiznet file.
5) Open the Wiznet program and Search it will find your iHub or NewLink
6) Click on Setting to set the file
7) Upgrade and choose the svlan_v43 File
8) Let the file load
9) Click on Setting to set the file
10) Exit by using the Red X at the lower right hand corner

thanks for the guide and files. I am at work right now but will try them in the afternoon. Also will need to get IKS server... if there's one you know let me know. I'm doing my search and think I found one. I will post when I try this at home.

Once again, Thanks for your support!

I really appreciate all your help. I will try this later tonight. I didn't see what file I need to force upload. Which one I need? Also I notice that when I connected the new link to wizloader it reads version 88? is that right or do I need to do the process again?

Thanks and I'm really sorry for so many question. I'm really rusty on this.

Thanks again

You could try the factory file in the link below ans see if it loads...it was one of the last factory files that was posted on the sv web site years ago...if I remember right there were three original factory file...the 105, 110 and the 117...the 117 came out when the 5E iHub came out in 2009...the 105 and 117 are not posted on site but I have them stored on cd along with a ton of files for the 360P for the iHub, newlink, and svlan. Is the wizloader showing 88 or is it maybe 82 or 82.9? At either rate you will need to get it to version 4.12 for it to work with the p2028 file.

Any file can be force loaded but most of the factory files were larger and were used to clean things out so to speak. I'm a bit rusty on this stuff myself...as time goes along it's getting harder and harder to recall some of it from my old noodle lol.

the receiver don't detect the usb stick,.. I get the NO USB dsk attached message but that's it. I don't have a serial port on m pc, but will try to get one. where can I find the loader? I fond the procedure on how to do it via serial but can't find the loader I need. I tried formatiing the stick in fat and fat32 but I still get the msg No Usb detected.

Thanks for the loader. However couldn't get a pci serial card. Does the pci to usb cable works?

abouttosnap
10-04-2014, 02:34 AM
That usb force load should work...make sure you have the file you want to load on your usb stick...turn the 360P off via the back switch...plug the usb stick in the front port...while holding the ok button on the front of the receiver down flip the back switch on...keep holding the ok button down until the no usb message goes away and you should see the file show on the screen...then select it.

aztheroth
10-04-2014, 01:25 PM
No matter how long I keep pressing the OK button it doesn't show anything in USB stick. Noticed that the front USB port on stb seems not to be working. Only the one in the back. Also was table to find a pci card for my pc.saw the cable serial to USB but would like to know if it may work before buying it.

abouttosnap
10-04-2014, 04:52 PM
All my pc's have serial ports so I've never used...if I remember right some have used usb to serial in the past as long as you get it configured right. It's a shame you didn't have a usb stick with a light so you could tell if it was seeing the stick...most of the time the usb port on sv doesn't go bad but for some reason after a file load the front one will stop working...more like a glitch so to speak...you can get it to start working again via the front buttons on the receiver or the menu if you can see it...I just can't remember how to do it at present...if I remember I'll post.

One thing to look for when you hold down the ok button and flip the back switch watch the display...you should see USBL on the display and if the display flickers a bit it is a good chance the receiver see's the usb stick...just to make sure...are you unzipping the file before you lad it on the usb stick? If not the receiver won't see the file.

If you can ever get your iHub to version 4.3 and then load the p2028 file it should update the iHub to version 4.12 and you should be good to go once you get a service.

10-04-2014, 05:27 PM
I have a stick that has light on but only turns on if I plug it in on the rear usb. If placed on front won't turn the light on the stick. I get the USBL on the display and the no usb attached on TV screen. I will buy that cable and see what happens. Will do some search on how to configure that cable. I think I should a dust the read speed.

aztheroth
10-04-2014, 05:57 PM
ok, I bought the cable and was able to load the factory file you sent me. Now when I connect the ihub/new link says version 82. should I start the process again? the main software I have on the receiver is 01.10

abouttosnap
10-04-2014, 06:20 PM
Try reloading the v99 file and following that procedure...if you can get the iHub to version 4.3 you will be almost there...version 82 just basically means the iHub is confused and didn't update properly...as long as you can see the iHub with the wizloader you can start over more or less.

aztheroth
10-04-2014, 06:35 PM
everytime I tried to load v99 it reboot but wont turn on. was able to load it via downloader and it loaded. not when I plug in the newlink on the receiver it doesn't detect it. I can plug it in to the wizloader and it reads version 82. but doesn't let me load anything.

aztheroth
10-04-2014, 07:41 PM
can't get new link out of version 82. every site I find says I need a file Rom0100 to upload via wizloader but when I tried to download ask me to register and when I register says I don't have enough privileges... do you have that file?

Glad you finally got it where it needs to be...here are a couple of links that have a few pics on the server settings that maybe helpful...on the lnb and dish if you could give me some info on the labeling of the lnb an dish I might be able to help you out...for example does the lnb have dp logo on it and is there some kinda of logo on the dish...for example dish 500? The more info the better.

I think I was able to connect to the server. But don't know how to setup lnb switch and that. I just did a blind scan and got around 50 channels. The sat dish is on the roof, so I can't see very well.the dish says Dish HD. Has 3 lnb. I sind the vip dual tuner receiver. Will see if I find the instalation paperwork they give me and check if they wrote something there.

I did select standard lnb. diseqc port 1 for 119, port 2 for 110 and port 3 for 129. I got channels but not all. specially the latino channels. just of few of them. channels like USA network was not detected as well as some other. Do I need to keep scanning or change something in the sat settings?

Thanks!

just wanted to thank you again for all the files, information and time you provide to help me out. nice t have someone around that actually helps newbies/rusty people. I used the following method to scan

Just change the settings that you need to, they should look like the below:

Sat: Echo 7 119W
lnb Type: OCS-DP
lnb Freq: 11250
22KHZ: OFF
lnb Power: ON
Transponder: 12239 <- To see quality
Search Opt: All
Network Search: Off <- Important
DiSEqC: Port 1
Motor: Disable
Legacy Switch: OFF

Now, you should see Quality and the same satellite name appears on the top as the one you are setting up. They have to match, and this will tell you that you have the settings right.

Hit the Red button to Scan channels here, and Save when it is finished.

Now, you have to turn the lnb Power back to Off for Echo 7 119W when you are done scanning.

Now, setup the next satellite.

Sat: Echo 8,10 110W
lnb Type: OCS-DP
lnb Freq: 11250
22KHZ: OFF
lnb Power: ON
Transponder: 12239 <- To see quality
Search Opt: All
Network Search: Off <- Important
DiSEqC: Port 2
Motor: Disable
Legacy Switch: OFF

Now, you should see Quality and the same satellite name appears on the top as the one you are setting up again.

Hit the Red button to Scan channels here, and Save when it is finished. Since we are only scanning these 2 satellites, we are done. Be sure to go back to the Echo 7 119W antenna settings and turn the lnb Power back to On and Save. The LNB Powers only need to be Off for scans. If you forget, you will remember when the channel you try to view doesn't work.

If you did a Factory Reset, be sure to adjust your Time Zone to your area. Also enter your State and City for Remapping Local Channels to your Local Channel Area.

The gist of this method is to have the LNB Power OFF for all the other satellites you are not scanning, and be sure to have the Network Search Off as well. You can also scan this way over the top of other scans when you find channels missing. You will not get the double channel problem. When the receiver finds the same channel somewhere else on another TP, it will just update that information, and add any new channels it finds.

It is recommended that you rescan your channels at least once a month, or whenever you find channels missing. The providers move channels to different transponders all the time."

It worked. Just a few missing channels like MTV that were available when I did the blind scan, but I guess is all about to rescanning and they will come back.

Thanks!

No problem and you are very welcome...I'm glad we got ya going. On the dish if you are only going to have the one sv you may want to run one line from the dpp to your sv...some of these dn lnb's can be real power hogs and the sv may not have enough power to push that lnb and switch...maybe why you are missing some channels. Maybe someone else can chime in here on the switch...I always tried to stay away from switches but I only have one tv in the living room so no need for it plus I've got my motor setup...you may want to check out the lnb discussion section...there maybe some good info in there on that lnb and switch combo...really don't need the line going to the 129 with the sv anyway...no sd channels viewable at present.
