Open up EPG highlight show,hit OK button twice,exit. or
Use timer record in menu or
Hit record button on remote

Thanks for this info. I am on a FTA sat and thinking of going to DreamLink T5 (currently using an Openbox S9). I understand that there is a timer recording function for the T5, but can you program the timer with future dates as well without EPG data. My S9 has a timer but my FTA sat doesn't have EPG so I can only record currently playing shows.

Yes you can record without an epg. Thats the timer record feature My friend tested it and it works.
