It's been years since I've used my Sonicview 8000 + Tuner, in fact I missed the whole IKS thing.

I'm only interested in doing BEV, I don't even mind buying a new receiver but I'm surprised to see people still buying Sonicview 8000s online. I have no interest in Dish as I have a sub.

1. Do I keep the Sonicview or replace with a new receiver? Someone mentioned to me the Dreamlink HD T5. Is the way to go.

2. If it is recommended I keep the Sonicview, where to get an IKS type device, or Ethernet bridge?

3. Does a reliable BEV FTA service exist, most of the forums that I ended up in from googling showed that it had been down for months.

Thanks in advance!

First thing you should do is to check to see if you can still get B*v, as the footprint for her satellites has changed in the few years. If you are not in a border state then you will be pretty much unable to get B*v and the rest of your questions are moot.

I can guarantee I'm good for a nice strong signal.

You lucky bugger. The SV8K is a superior stb and internet connectivity is possible with a newer device. I have two of them but both my SV8K's are toast. The devise is silk screened as a wiznet. Google it and enjoy. You will also need an add on board for B*V. Search the SV8000 section of the forum and you will learn all about this stuff.
