i drop it ,in the water

Put it over a rad where some air is blowing through it for a couple hours. Give it some new batteries and all should be good.

use a small screwdriver - pry from center where crack is
work your way around remote..it will come apart
remember the way it looks when it comes apart
look for water - dry it with cloth and fan

Yes, there are basically identical. I also use a logitech universal as well.
