can the 6131 bev rec feed the dpp lnb

I just bought a bev dish 500+ with dpp twin lnbs. But the 6131 bev rec cant provide enough current to feed the lnb. I get "no signal" error after a check switch. The installation was done with the super buddy meter. I get LOCK on both sats.

You will not get a signal on the Bev box unless it is registered! Been through that until it was registered!

What switch do you have before the DP DUAL LNB's???

If you have two LNB's on that dish then you need a switch, the DPP LNB's need a DPP switch to run them, a DPP 34 or a DPP44 switch will work fine, the old legacy switch wont.

If you have only have the one DP TWIN LNB (one large eye) mounted on that dish then you may have a coax problem, if you had the old legacy LNB's on that dish then you may need to also change the coax to some stuff that will handle the new DPP type LNB's. the coax needs to b rated to 2.5 or 3 GHz. or it will not work right.

I have the dpp twin lnb so no switch is needed to connect to one rec. My coax is ok because I verified the signal with the super buddy meter at the cable end going to the 6131. I got that rec last week then I bought the bell dish. Before I had the vip211 with the dishpro 1000.2 dish. I sold them and bought the bev one. Im using the same coax as the previous installation.

Are you trying for the Canadian satellites at 91W and 82W? If not then what satellites are you trying for? (110 and 119?)

If so then are you within 200 miles South of the US Canadian border?

And did you re-point the dish for 91/82?

I re-pointed the dish for 82/91 and I got both at 95 with the super buddy meter. The 6131 bev rec I got is old so it may not supply enough current to the dpp lnb. Illl try my friend's 6131 thats working with his installation.

If you have a DVM you can check the output at the LNB input "F" connector, use a small paper clip and insert it into the "F" connector, then from this connection to the outside of the connector you should see about +20 to +22 volts DC.

If you have that voltage you should be OK, you can then check at the coax connector at the LNB, you should have about the same, (maybe about a volt less) if less then 14 volts you have a problem.

The 6131 receiver should be able to power the DPP twin LNB without any help from any power inserter.

Did you go into menu, check switch/test to configure your receiver to the dish?

Yes you do need to run a check switch, you need to run the first check switch with NO coax cable, that will reset the receiver so
it will look for a new dish & switch.

yes but nothing happen cause the rec doesnt work
