HD receivers review, recommendations, which to consider buying

I am looking to buy an hd receiver. I could not find a thread here that reviews, recommends, or at least lists the hd boxes. I am just looking for headstart for the first 3 - 7 receivers I should consider. I will do my home work to find more detail about each before I buy.

Any ideas, recomendations?

I have found the easiest way to choose a box is to read the comments in each forum. If you are seeing a lot of complaints then avoid that box. You have been here for a year or more so you must have some idea on boxes. good luck

I can and would definetely read comments on each forum. I am looking for a start list. Since you have been here longer than me, do yo have a list of 6-7 boxes to start looking at, not necesarily in order of preference ?
