DN 1000.2 Power Inserter question

Quick question, does a Dp44 power inserter need to be connected to a receiver "FTA or DN" for it to work proper? Or can I just power up the inserter and then run a single cable from the inserter to port 1 of the dish only. I plan on running a Linkbox 8000 plus and Dreamlink T5 on port 2 and 3.

the power inserter should be connected to port A (119) on the dp44, I don't recommend that you hook up a FTA receiver to the power inserter.

Once again thanks for response Hedley, just want to verify one more thing, the power inserter does not need to be connected to a receiver just to the dish on port 1.

That is correct, the DC power inserter does not need to be connected to the receiver, just to the #1 port on the LNB, on it's own coax.
