View Full Version : Way to turn off USB Explorer on power on, problems maintaining AC3 audio output

I just set up my Dreamlink T5 (using the latest "Dreamlink_T5_0103_0625P" bin) and noticed some annoying things that hopefully someone may be able to shed some light on:

1) Is there a way to turn off the USB Explorer prompt when the unit is first turned on from Standby mode? I keep a USB drive plugged in for PVR purposes and it's annoying to have the USB Explorer window always come up when it is turned on.

2) I have this hooked up to a receiver so I want Dolby AC3 audio output passthrough. This works when I set audio to "AC3" and set SPDIF to "On", but then if I go to a few non-HD channels that are only stereo output, the Dreamlink seems to "forget" this setting and all channels now only have PCM output (and the volume is super quiet). To fix this, I have to set the audio to "PCM", save, then go back into the audio settings and pick "AC3".. After that its fixed until it happens again. Is there any fix to this so that Dolby Digital AC3 is always the sound output format?

Thanks

For those interested, I was able to solve the AC3 audio output problem by using an SPDIF optical cable for audio instead of the HDMI cable. The problem only seems to occur when using an HDMI cable for audio. So unfortunately it's one more cable to run to my receiver but it fixed the problem.

Now if I can just find a way to turn off the USB Explorer window when the unit is powered on from standby...
