View Full Version : Few Questions.....

I am looking into buying this box and just want to ask a few things.....
Does the IPTV stay connected in the background or does it disconnect while watching iks or fta channels? Just asking due to bandwidth. I had a roku stick and it always stayed connected unless I unplugged it which slowed my web surfing.
Will it allow me to have 82-91-110-119-129 hooked up all at once? My nano hd doesn't have the option for sw-21 with the diseq so only 4 sats can be connected at one time.
Can the remote be programmed to work with a Harmony remote? Remarkably, harmony has a nanosat receiver in their listing while programming which worked with the nano hd.
Just a few things I would like to know before purchase......Everything else I needed was posted in the forum.
Thanks

Ok I don't know much about the SHD3000 receiver but may be able to answer a few of the other questions.
On the Hamony remote, if it is the type you can download and reprogram from the Harmopny web site, then you give them the model number of the unit your trying to program and let them figure it out, then they will send you a link to reprogram your remote with the right info.
As to the 5 satellite setup, if your (or any) receiver has the Diseqc 1.1, 1.2 or 2.0 switching option then a 8x1 or an 8x2 switch can be used, this is a common option in most of the newer receivers.
And is the best option as you don't have a bunch of switches to go bad or supply a lot of headaches, just be sure you know that 5 LNB's (and one or more switches) may put you over the 500 mA current budget for most FTA receivers.

As for the harmony remote, thanks and that's what Ill do if I buy this box.
My nano hd doesn't have the option for more than 4 sats which is why I asked about this box.

The IPTV is only connected when viewing a channel.
You can have as many satellites connected as you wish. Multiple servers and providers are not a problem for viewing channels. My buddy is using 119, 110, 91, 82 and there is no problem switching between the providers of satellites. There are a few issues to be worked out with the STB but the Mega team seems to listen to its users.

Ok..thanks for the info. Also need to know about the install sat settings if there is an option for diseq and sw21. That would allow me to have 82-91-110-119 and 129 all hooked up. Nano HD has no option for sw21 which is why I cant hook up the 5 birds. I have to go outside and unplug say 82 if I want to watch 129 or vice versa.

There is a setup guide posted here....http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?163670-Mega-TVI-SHD3000-Setup&p=1078950#post1078950
Most new units running 3rd party software have both diseq and switches plus more.
If you have everything hooked up as you say, then I see no reason as to why you can't follow the guide and connect to all 5 birds.

I have the nano hd and there is no option on this box for diseq and sw-21. I have sked around and all lead me to believe the box isn't capable. If you know of something Im missing and its possible to do the 5 birds on my nano hd, can you point me in the right direction to do it?
Thanks

I'm running a motor setup so I have no switch installed so I have no idea how this box works with a switch but the option for an sw21 switch is there.

I just went and checked through the menu again and don't see sw-21 anywhere....
There is diseq 1.1 and diseq 1.0
I have 1.0 ports 1-4 for my current set-up.
Scrolling through the 1.1, it has cascade m1 (port 1-4) and keeps going to cascade m2 (port1-16)
Is this cascade thing the sw-21?

We are not talking about your nano!!!!
You asked about the mega tvi shd3000!!!!!
Geez I don't even have one and can tell you it is working on all 5 sats plus a motor.
What section are we in? Oh ya mega tvi shd3000.
Please do some reading!
Sorry to be harsh but you have a lot of questions that are answered if you take the time to read what thread/section you are in.

I know that but he said my box has the sw-21 option so I posted back that I went and checked again and let him know that it didn't!
I only answered back to what he posted about my box having the option but then post 11 he said sorry and was talking about the mega......

Stop squirting cider and read what is posted! Hang on... pass some of tha cider! lol
I answered your question in post #7 regarding this box and not your nano!
If you insist on high jacking trying to get your nano to see a sw21 switch then I shall delete all of this as this is getting ridiculous.
You clearly asked if this unit (look what section of receiver you are in) sees a sw21 switch. The question was answered not once but twice.
Now unless you have further questions regarding this receiver and not your nano please, and I can't emphasise enough. Please read the the threads in this section...http://www.satfix.net/forumdisplay.php?1547-Mega-TVi-SHD3000
and you may want to read this section as to what the guides and files are....http://www.satfix.net/forumdisplay.php?1548-Mega-TVi-SHD3000-Files
I understand you want to be certain on something but reading is your best friend when something new comes out.

Lol....ok....it just sounded like abouttosnap was saying that my box had the sw-21 and I know it doesn't. Got a little excited when he said that as that is a big reason for me looking for another box.
I am really just trying to find out as much as possible about this mega box before I buy 'another' box without decent options.....
And sorry, cant share the cider.....lol

Is the IPTV on this box is included or you have to have your own IPTV sub.

Forget IPTV Channel list. Whatever available, I found constant buffering makes it impossible to watch.

Anyone using broadband internet can forget about iptv. Not sure about satellite internet as I've never used it. If you are getting buffering then you need more horsepower to use iptv. Contact your IP and bump up your speed and also check your download allotment so you aren't going over. hope this helps.
