NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Greg Biffle and primary sponsor 3M are both signed, sealed and delivered to remain with Roush Fenway Racing, according to a report late Thursday evening by Jayski.com. Biffle’s and 3M’s deals with RFR were both scheduled to expire at the end of this season.

According to the report, officials of the site claim to have “been told that Biffle has signed to stay on at Roush Fenway Racing, no word when it will be announced. As the Charlotte Observer mentioned, 3M will remain with Biffle and RFR as the sponsor.”

There has been no confirmation or comment from Roush Fenway Racing or 3M officials. Biffle is expected to have his weekly media session Friday at Sonoma Raceway and may potentially address the report then.

The Observer on June 8 cited multiple sources in its report that Biffle and 3M were both expected to remain at RFR.

Also on June 8, during an appearance on the Performance Racing Network’s Garage Pass show, Biffle, 44, made it pretty clear that he wasn’t going anywhere once his current contract expires at the end of this season.

“I really like the program at Roush-Fenway, I really like (sponsor) 3M and that’s really my focus,” Biffle said. “I have talked with other teams and there are options there but I think Roush is where I want to stay.”

He added that he would like a deal to be “done in the next month or so. If we don’t have something before … I’m going to say at the end of July … I’m going to have to make a decision.”

Three weeks ago, Fox Sports NASCAR analyst Darrell Waltrip hinted heavily that Biffle was headed to race for younger brother Michael Waltrip Racing in 2015, which the younger Waltrip denied.

Meanwhile, there has been no update on the status of Biffle’s RFR teammate Carl Edwards, whose contract also expires at the end of this season. Edwards has been rumored to potentially be headed to Joe Gibbs Racing.
