They were sitting in the No. 3 spot heading into heat two on Saturday in men's two-man bobsleigh, but Canada's Lyndon Rush and Lascelles Brown now find themselves out of medal contention after a crash in their second run.

Rush, of Humboldt, Sask., followed up his 51.67 second run with a 54.70 effort after crashing on corner 13.

Brown hurt his shoulder during the crash and won't race on Sunday, but CTV has learned the injury is minor. He's slated to race in the four-man event, which opens Feb. 26.

Canada 1 took a spill on the corner known as 50/50, as sliders say there's a 50/50 chance they'll make it out of the corner without a crash.

Heading into that second run, Brown and Rush were sitting 0.10 off the pace. They now find themselves 3.06 seconds back, and in 21st.

"I made a mistake on corner 11 and it snowballed on me until the exit of 50/50," Rush said, immediately after the race. "We went over. Actually, it was the first time I crashed. I thought I could bring her back, [but we] went over on my head."

"In the big picture of things, it'll be okay," he added. "I'll be fired up to win in four man."

David Bissett - a member of the four-man crew - will replace Brown as Rush's brakeman on Sunday.
