where do I find the file for iptv channel list for openbox x5 hd

The box should come preloaded with some IPTV channels. If you want to add more,then find a tvlist.txt and put it on a usb stick in the root area. When you open IPTV you will have the option of using the stock list or the usb list.

You can find loads of those files on google but a lot of the channels no longer work, it's a case of checking and deleting those that are no good. Here is a specimen file, just copy/paste and name it tvlist.txt

On my box pushing the red button gives me 2 options;
1.- change to channels by usb
2.- change to channels by default.

Are you sure you have the tvlist.txt in the root... not inside a folder as it will not detect it there.

Go to SATELLITE LIST and delete all you don't need. Then ADD (red button) the sats you want, to name the sat push the right arrow button on the remote and it will bring up the keyboard. Once you have named your sats then EXIT and go to SATELLITE SETUP and fill in the information (less transponder info)for the sats you have just added, and the press scan (blue button).

Having experimented with different versions of software I came across the problem you mention. When this happens I pull out the usb, plug it in again and restart the IPTV program from the menu... seems to fix the problem. I use a USB extension cable as it's awkward to plug the usb stick in and also reduces wear and tear on the box.

Have enclosed a list of movies, may not last long, it's in two parts as it's to big for just one list. Rename to tvlist.txt.

Limons tvlist.zip are links from noobroom the ip and "auth" codes have changed you can change
limons tvlist easily with new ip`s and auth codes here is a working link

replace both ip and auth in the example code then copy back to Limons list his text list doesnt have the find and replace feature.

I probably shouldnt mention this but will get out sooner or later in an effort to keep things free the entire Mashup
repo for xbmc is posted in open source everything on the Mashup is available in the link form like the noobroom links.You can load these links which there are several per each movie and or videos as well as the thumbnails you
can use these links on most all iptv boxes as well as your htpc.Here are a few more ips for noobroom

You have to join and log in to get rid of the annoying popups. Some of the links only work for a short time as they are taken down by the providers, so it's cat and mouse, but fun and games.

The OB X5 uses the file format tvlist.txt. To get rid of the unwanted info that comes in an EXTM3U file I made a small VB program that strips off most of the unwanted stuff and produces the tvlist.txt. Here's how it works:-

1.- Create a new folder and place tvlist_9.vbs in this folder
2.- Copy/paste your M3U list to this folder and rename it 'raw.txt'
3.- raw.txt must have #EXTM3U on the first line and 'end' as last line (edit as needed)
4.- Double click the tvlist_9.vbs and a new file will appear in the folder called tvlist.txt.


This is still a work in progress (version 9 LOL) and you have to help the program by editing out any blank lines before you make the raw.txt. A lot of info comes ready to go, but some have blank lines which my program does not like. Please feel free to update my program to improve it... thank you. I have included a specimen raw.txt so you can see what it looks like, you can make comments on the first line as it does not appear in tvlist.txt.

Name the folders with their source name ie NOOBROOM, otherwise you will end up with a load of tvlist.txt and it will be confusing. I keep a copy of the .vbs file in each folder. I find the program TextPad is much better than Notepad to view the files because of the formatting.
