I got my new T5 hooked 2day all ok with that and pointed @ 110 and 118 all is good but the picture quality is not impressive so far is this 1080 P or I cause thats all the options its shows. Is there not channels on these that have hd and do i need hardware change outside? also for me 2 get 129 can i just turn the 110 into 129 ? i have a big dish for 118/119 and a smaller 1 for 110. 1 last question is it better 2 use the optical cable for sound ?

ty and rock on

None of Dish's HD channels are in 1080P, nor 1080i, but all are in 720P.

And you should go for all 3 (4 if you want 118 also), a Dish 1000 plus will get you all 4, unless you are in a location that has reception problems with 110, 118, 119 or 129.

To run the 3 headed LNB (4 with 118) you will need the DP power inserter for a DPP44 switch as that receiver will not be able to run that setup by it's self.

And an optical cable would be needed if your running the audio through a stereo receiver that does not have an HDMI loop through.

The 1080i option is there in case you don't want to use Dishnet as your SAT provider ;-)

I just set up mine a couple days ago and agree that the picture quality sucks compared to my old nano2 and i was lead to believe1080P was the best picture for newer HD sets, so what will give the LOCAL the best picture quality 440,720p ,1080i? Maybe it's my settings.

scroll across to configeration
scroll down to a/v output settings
hit ok
scroll down to hd video output

90% of HD content is on 129. Tune to channel 9421. That's an open channel on 110 (for testing purposes)
