I currently have a dish 500 pointing to 110 and 119 for sd. I am looking to go HD.(129?)
What type of dish, lnb, and switch should I be getting? I will have 2 receivers in 2 rooms.
Thanks!!

Go with a single DP LNB on a second dish,(second D500 dish but with only one LNB on it) then use a DP44 switch and power inserter to run everything, the power inserter will have to be on it's own coax out to the switch to avoid any problems with the DP power inserter being in-line with the FTA receiver, the power inserter will go to the #1 receiver port on the switch, you then can run 3 FTA receivers off that setup.

Or replace the D500 with a D1000 dish, you will still need the DP44 switches power inserter to run the 3 headed LNB, (same as above) but you won't need the switch, you will have 2 extra ports on that setup to run your receivers.

I am just looking to replace my dish500.
SO all I will need is a D1000.2 and a power inverter? From what I am reading I will not need a switch at all because it has a built in switch?

go to ebay and put dish hd in the search engine field or just copy and paste the link below.

That is correct, you will not need a switch as it is build-in to the lnb, a power inverter is advised and goes on port #1 of the lnb, that leaves you port #2 & #3 for receivers.....port #4 is an in-port for adding another lnb/sat. A dish 1000.2 gets you 110, 119 & 129 depending on your location.
