Found that out the hard way. My seller and other local sellers have told me they all have a 30 day store warranty but after that, you can either ship the unit to Korea to the manufacturer or get someone local that can repair it at your expense. So much for manufacturer warranty....

the warranty was always covered by authorized dealers for one year. You obviously did not buy from one The manufacturers have never repaired units

keep in mind that a Manufactures Warrant covers only the material that they used to manufacture the receiver and does not cover "Cockpit Error", in many cases the Manufacturers Representative (Authorized Dealer) will repair or replace the "defective" receiver at their expense to promote good will, the Manufacturers warranty is void if the end user or dealer installs a 3rd party bin as this is not what the receiver was designed for.

Maybe it "was" but that is not the way it is now. I recall a time when you could go online to the manufacturer's website and get all the info or contact them. do you have this manufacturer's website or contact info?? That is the way it was when manufactures used to stand behind their products. I did all the search I could and nothing online about how to contact this manufacturer and this seller claims to be authorized so how to do dispute it when there is no manufacturer rep or info to tell you who are the supposed authorized dealers?? I have been buying receivers from this seller for years and they have never failed me.

The dreamlink factory has never repaired units period so there is no way to contact them.As far as manufactures standing behind units in the past you used to be able to send a rcvr away to get it fixed They were in the US,now they are in China and Korea.Who is this dealer?

You are not helping Torpainter. Do you have a solution to help me? Perhaps a list of the authorized dealers, so I don't make the same mistake again or reference in the receiver manual that says your dealer will give you one year of coverage on this item. I have looked and can't find it that is why I put the question to the open forum to find a solution. I know this site always advocate buying from authorized dealers. How do you know who the authorized dealers are if the manufacturer doesn't tell you?? Which they don't. If the dealers are supposed to look after the warranty for the year, why is that not mentioned in the manual that came with the machine?? In fact, the term warranty is not mentioned in the manual. You say the dealers are supposed to look after it for the year, the three dealers I phoned including the site sponsor all said they have 30day in store warranty and after that its a manufacturer issue. They did not say they cover the unit for the year. For any manufacturer that wants to be taken seriously, the least they can do is make available a list of their authorized dealers and how to get service if needed. That seems like common sense to me. I cannot go out and buy another unit by this brand ever again.

It looks like I got some good will on this unit. I just receive a message from World Wide Satellites and they have concluded my unit has a faulty board and that is why the ethernet was having trouble retaining ips. they are going to replace it for me for a small fee. So with the shipping and small fee it will cost me about $75 total.

Obviously you have insight into the manufacturing world of ftas I don't. I seem to be on the opposite side of what is supposed to be the norm. I have had two receivers, my SV8000HD and Ipro2000 both were repaired by the manufacturer when they died. When I contacted them, they did not tell me to take it to my retailer. They gave me the service depot address and I sent them there and got them back ready to go.

All the US based companies have been shut down through the courts. Now the manufacturers are off shore where its not practical to ship rcvrs for repair. The cost of shipping would outweigh the repair. Yes things have changed
leesatt is one dreamlink sales guy who looks after units
Nick at wws is another but his warranty is usually void when the seal is broken.Since he does not sell 8psk board you have to break the seal to add the module Glad it worked out for you

Yes. I got it from World Wide:thumbsup: and they have a new board in the unit for me. Like I said, they have never let me down and unless I see a list of authorized dealers, I will keep going back to them for my receivers.

I dealt with a couple of people. The best way to get hold of them is to go to their website and send an email to them using their contact link and describe your issue and the first person to check the email will get back to you.

Lucky you cau\ght it on time. Yes, all the resellers will take the unit back or exchange or make the necessary fix without any hassle during the 30 day period. My unit was long past the 30 day period because I was out in the field.
