Here is my current setup

3 Legacy dual LNB's, pointing to 110, 119 and 91

I Have two 6X8 Zinwell switches followed by Diseqc switches

One of the 6X8 has 110 and 119 in it, 119 is in the spots that require 22 KHZ on, both are up and working fine

The 2nd Zinwell has just 91 in the regular ports - non- 22 KHZ

Each zinwell goes to diseqc switches, port 1 on each diseqc has the first zinwell plugged into it , port 2 has the second zinwell switch in it.

Here are my config for each bird

110
LNB power ON
LNB type STandard
LNB freq 11250
22 KHZ off
tp Freq 12224
diseqc Port 1
motor off
legacy sw none

119
LNB power ON
LNB type STandard
LNB freq 11250
22 KHZ on
tp Freq 12224
diseqc Port 1
motor off
legacy sw none

91 Satellite reports it is seeing 110
LNB power ON
LNB type STandard
LNB freq 11250
22 KHZ off
tp Freq 12224
diseqc Port 2
motor off
legacy sw none

Any idea why my config doesn't see 91 properly? What switch(es) should I use to resolve this if this won't work?

Are you using a 22" to 24" elliptical dish?

91W to 119W may be too wide a beamwidth for a single dish, (28 degrees) what type dish are you using?

And why the two 6x8 switches? only one 6x8 would be needed for 3 legacy LNB's, I think you have way too much stuff in the setup.

I don't know if he can use the 2 "flex-ports" on the 6X8 switch with fta receivers, which I'm guessing is why he is using 2 of them. I have always found it problematic cascading DISH>22KHZ>DISEQC>RECEIVER, it works fine the other way DISH>DISEQC>22KHZ>RECEIVER, which might be why 91 is missing.

As Terry said I think it would be a much better set-up just to get a simple 4X1 diseqc switch and run your 3 LNB's into that then to your receiver.

Let me see if I can answer both responses. First, the dish is a 24 elliptical dish and prior to IKS and NAG 3 I had all three lnb's working fine but I only had 2 receivers so I just used disqec switches. When I added the 6 X 8 I had hoped to get 3 or 4 sat boxes working but the FLEX ports won't work so I got two 6 X 8 switches, since my LNB's are dual I couldn't do just disqec switches or else I would only be able to use 2 SAT boxes. I have not tried putting the disqec first then 6 X 8 followed by my receivers, if that will work I can do that. Thanks for the response.

If your working with legacy LNB's that need both outputs connected to work with more then 2 FTA receivers then it would be best to go with a single switch, something from EMP would do the job, they don't use "Flex ports", they have many different selections to go from, so what you use is up to you.

Here is a link to one set.

Another possible problem could be lack of DC power, the 3 LNB's 2 6x8 switches and some Diseqc switches may put you over the DC current rating on the reciver, check the spec's on the switches and LNB's, add up the required DC current draw from each device attached, some 6x? switches only draw the DC power from the #1 port, you could be having DC power problems with your receiver.

Most FTA recivers can only supply 500 mA to the external equipment, with a switch that connects 2 or more LNB's to 2 or more receivers, the LNB's are powered up all the time, and each switch that does not have a DC power injector takes DC current from the receiver, all this DC current adds up.

Because you are running more than 2 receivers you can't put the diseqc befor the 22khz, your only other option is to combine the feeds from the two 6X8's to an SW21 (1 SW21 for each receiver you have) but now your looking at 5 or 6 switches in your system. Like Terry said you could run into a lack-of-power issue with all that stuff being powered by an fta receiver, simple is always better so if you can use 1 switch instead of 6 then you will thank yourself down the road.........
