My Nfusion just died and I am looking at a Dreamlink??????
Haven't kept up with any of the new STDs out there but the Dreamlink seem to have many followers.
Could someone give me some direction or advise about the dreamlink.
Latest unit out or best one to buy?????
Interested in HD !
Understand it does not need the NOI but waht does it use to work with NFPS or any P$??????
Does the unit come with 8psk board or is that an extra add on?????
Any guidance will be appreciated.
Thanks

Purchased a Dreamlink T5 HD last week. Ordered on Sunday evening - it was at my door Tuesday afternoon.
The module was included with the price of the receiver.
Module is a very easy install and the unit is pretty nice with an easy setup. Small as well.

You will need a Dreamlink and a subscription to TV guide.

You will need a Dreamlink and a subscription to TV guide.only if they're like you and can't follow instructions on how to populate epg

You will need a Dreamlink and a subscription to TV guide.
I get at least 3 days of EPG by pressing the yellow button in guide and let it sit for at least 10 minutes.

LOL !
Yes a STB is what I meant. Ha !
My concern is the comparison of the Dreamlink with the Nfusion HD. It appears that there are some serious differences.
One being the EPG on the Dreamlink?????? Has anyone owned both and compared the two???????
Another is the surfing or scrolling of channels. This is what I have read and it seems confusing. I think there has been a
significant improvement in the Dreamlink since first was out...
Thanks

I can't help you out on the comparison, but I have two Dreamlink T5 STB's (latest one) and it was easy to set up following a post I found. I am pretty disappointed in the picture quality. I am currently using HDMI output and am about to just test out each of the other outputs to see if they are better. The ones I have already came with the HD module installed.

I have both units up right now and the Nfusion epg is a lot better for me. Also, I have had the T5 for 1 week and so far not impressed. I have only been able to watch it for a day. It seems to have an ethernet issue. I keep getting ethernet un-pluged error message whether there is a cable plugged in or not so it can never connect to the server unless you point your @#$$ in certain direction or do a reset and re-input all your info. It managed to pick up an IP once, I watched the olympis, powered it off for the night and until now has not been able to pick up an IP. I am hopping they have a fix for that otherwise this thing is going on kijiji.

I have both the Nfusion HD and the T5 side by side and both are excellent epg is very good on both and have NO problems with
ethernet connection, maybe try different ethernet cable or try dif. port on router
Last resort is maybe do factory default, reload bin file and do another factory default then do your setup
and see if it cures your problem

thanks for input edgar. I have been trying two different routers. I have over 30 ethernet cables of all lengths in my tool bag here all linkrunner 2000 verified. My nfusion and ilink have never had any issue with either router or cables before. I swap the cables working on the nfusion and the nfusion works fine with the cable from the T5 but the T5 still has ethernet un-pluged error message. as soon as I reset it the ethernet comes back online. I went go through setting up everything again and it picks up an ip and connects. As soon as I rebooted, ethernet-unpluged. That tells me its an ethernet issue caused by the firmware. which firmware are you using?? I am using the 102.

i would do a factory reset, then install factory bin, reboot then install the 102 again, reboot again....set up as per sticky and then if you get the same error message then it would sound like you have a dud ....i would send it back.
hope this helps

I too have Both STB's (No STD's) LMAO!! But I have to say I love Both Boxes but the Nfusion has me spoiled as it is a Great Box still today. The Dream Link has a Great HD Pic. My TV I have for some reason the pic goes in and out with the HDMI cable something to do with the Any Net software in the Samsung tv as the other tvs in the house work great with The Dream Link and HDMI Cable,Just the Living room. So I Hooked up the Component Cables and it is working Great. Nfusion is Old but still is in the top also in my opinion.

I have to agree the Nfusion HD is a great receiver even if its old and now with the xx=client program they run GREAT
I liked this receiver so much that i purchased 2 brand NEW ones about two years ago,one for a spare but has never been needed
cause they just keep going,so it is still in its box and has never been used yet

Nfhd is still the best on the market. nothing compares to it.
best picture, best epg, best for any set up cause puts out 1000ma to power up your settings.
not to mention ATSC tuner for ota channels. this machine was build long time ago for today's future.

U should load the factory file first then load the 102 file then factory recovery then set sats ,scan channels, put in p$ server if using then hit network under options in menu.I did that way and solved the disconnect problem.Dreamlink T5 works great and been running for 1 month now and no bugs.I have a junkbox,Oh sorry jinxbox not much difference ,same results, was not a good working unit always buggy.
