What is the purpose of a power inserter? The bell receiver has a power inserter installed at the back of the receiver. Is it supposed to be removed for the FTA reciever? Any idea what the settings for 82 and 91 would be? It is a single dish with a couple of lnb's. I am not sure if it has a built in switch. Thanks.

The power inserter is to run the external switch, you need it to run the system.
Some FTA receivers will work with it, others have problems with it in line, you might be better off using a second (or third) connection out to the switch to run the FTA receiver and leave the one with the power inserter alone.
