Hello all,
I have an 1TB USB Seagate external HardDrive but by default it is NTFS. I want to format to FAT32 so I can record some thing to test but the DL T5 display no USB connected but my laptop on have either by Default NTFS or exFat. Neither one work and how I am format this USB Seagate harddrive to FAT32.

maybe try downloading a utility program like maxblast and run it in xp compatible form?
just a wild guess..
good luck with that.. I'm old school still running xp..

Try this program, worked on my 2tb Western Digital mybook, follow the link, click on the screenshot image of guiformat to download the program, then run it...
Hope it helps... Hope I didn't break anymajor rules for posting a link here... It's a trusted site and program. No worries..

I think you could use the format Fat32 in Window 8 or use SwissKnife 3.22 .

Thanks all for the info. It works like a charm now and just test recording. Wow I am almost converting my Window 8 to XP.

I've posted this before..
In Windows XP, go to > Start > Run. In Windows Vista and Windows 7, go to > Start, type > Run in the search field, and launch it. Type > cmd into the text field and click > OK.
Enter the following command at the prompt: format /FS:FAT32 X:
Replace the letter X with the drive letter for the external device you wish to format and hit > Enter.

The above command also works in win8 and win8.1 .

That did not work for me with windows 7.
It came back and said after about 25 minutes of formatting " format too big for FAT"
so I used a third part software, and it worked

FAT32 also has a 4 GB file size limitation, so if your recording is too big it will FUBAR.
