Anyone have any good reviews/opinions for an antenna? I've searched around and everyone swears by the 8 coat hanger version that you can build yourself. Is this kool-aid or or real? Thanks.

Its the real deal have made about 10 of them and i used copper grounding wire instead of the coat hangers, way better signal for about 10-15 $

Sometimes they work great, sometimes they are junk in the trunk, it all depends on where you live and your building skills.

I would go to hXXp://www.tvfool.com and enter your location, this will give you an idea on what channels are available and how far the TV transmitters are from you, these things work OK in the short to medium range locations.

The better you build the antenna the better it will work.

Using wood to mount it is OK for inside or up in the attic, but not that good for outside, as soon as it gets wet it will drop signals.

It also depends if your TV stations are a mix of VHF and UHF, the VHF stations take a much bigger antenna the the UHF stations.

You have to find out how far from the transmitters you are I can pick up from two first is about twenty miles and the other is one hundred twenty I am using a Aspen double bow tie antenna about $23.00 I pick up 78 channels. I have it on a mobile home 2 feet over roof
