I have a dish pro plus twin lnb(110,119) and single dish pro lnb's for 91 and 129 satellites.
How would I connect the dish pro plus twin lnb to a DPP 44 switch being that it has a internal build in switch already?
Would I also have to change my satellite settings to do this set up?:noidea:

Take a coaxial cable from both outputs of the twin lnb and put them to inputs 1 and 2 on the dpp44. Put the output of 129 to input 3 on the dpp44 and then put output from 91 to input 4 on the dpp44. Depending on how many receivers you have you may need to power the dpp44 with a power supply. Connect your receiver/receivers to the outputs of the the dpp44. In your satellite settings use 119 for port 1, provided you did put 119 to input 1 on the dpp44. Use 110 for port 2, 129 for port 3 and 91 for port 4. You can also Google this info and find pictures of this set up.

You will need the DPP44 power inserter to run the DPP44 switch, there is no FTA receiver made that can run that switch directly, it needs over 1 amp DC at 22 volts.

OK i just did a test with just the dish pro plus twin lnb and the DPP44 to see if it would pickup 110 and 119.
What I am getting is no signal from some channels and some channels are strong but after a few minutes it get weak or lose it completely. A lot of 110 channels signal are weak if any signal at all also I notice channels is working for a few minutes and then I lose the signal. Everything is working normal before I connect the switch. I connected the power inserter but no change. Do the DPP44 also have to be grounded? Could this be a ground problem?

All switches if mounted outside should be grounded.

How old is the switch???

Or is it new?

Also make sure your connecting the DC power supply to the #1 receiver port on the switch, and the type of coax is very important when using DP type LNB's.

The coax from the #1 receiver and power inserter should be the RG-6 type with the pure copper center conductor, it also has to be rated to 2.5 GHz or swept to 3 GHz, coax that was used for an old legacy LNB setup may not work.

The coax should be marked 2.5 GHZ or swept to 3 GHZ, and a small magnet will tell you if the center conductor is copper or copper plated steel, it will stick to the steel conductor.

The DP type LNB's use a much higher frequency then the standard or old legacy LNB's, so the coax has to work out to a higher then normal frequency.

Also some (but not all) FTA receivers do not work very well with the DPP power supply in-line with them, try it (the power supply) on the first coax BY it's self, run a second coax to the receiver from the #2 receiver port on the switch.

I will be mounting the switch inside my apartment.
The switch is new.
I connected the power supply to #1 receiver port also I tried connecting the receiver from the #2 receiver port on the switch.
I have to check the coaxial cable.
I am using a dreamlink T5.

How long a run of coax is it from the switch to the LNB's ???

Does the switch have a heavy metal case on it or is it a thin metal?

Does it look like this one?

Or this one?

If it's the first one then it can go outside close to the LNB's, if it's the second one then look it over very carefully as it could be a cheap knock off from who knows where, there have been some cheap clones popping up.

I would say about 10 feet run of coax.

It's the thin metal case. like the 2nd one. I hope it's not a knock off.

I am in apartment with a balcony so I can have the switch close to the lnb inside my apartment.

I just reconnected everything and it seems to be working now.
I think the problem was the power inserter plug was not push in enough for current.
Thanks Terryl and buddy4406 for all your help and Patience.

OK great to hear, and thanks for reporting back on the fix.

Enjoy..
