I get a Cineva message on my Samsung BR D5700 each time I play a particular movie file.

I heard I could downgrade the firmware so that the Cineva message would not prevent me in playing the video.

By typing in dns numbers on the router and using it to connect my Blue ray player..
Using that is suppose to allow me to downgrade the firmware?

Has anybody tried this ?

Does that still work ?

If so, what DNS numbers does one currently use to do that and what firmware version does it downloadgrade to ??

Thanks

Yes the new Cinavia..Only way to put in older firmware ..is have the old file .
Any movie copied with these protection and played on any bluray or dvd player with this in firmware . as you have seen what it does .
This is done threw the audio file ..like old days with vhs .

If I recall dvdfab and anydvd has got around this .

Other way is to keep an old dvd player around ...and look at new firmware before upgrading..but some players will not work until there are upgraded ..sony does this on some models.

It does not matter whether your player is connected to internet or not..this is done threw audio file ..very hard to remove. It times out after about 10 minutes with nag message on screen and no sound.
