Brand new receiver and the remote doesn't work

Hi,

I purchased a new Jynxbox ultra hd lite from leesatt. It arrived yesterday and when I plugged it in, the remote doesn't work. I read through this forum about this problem and I found that it's the 3rd remote in the picture from the remote thread.

Is it normal that the remote doesn't work even if the box is brand new with factory files installed on it? (I am taking a guess that it's the factory files since I cannot enter into the menu to verify).

I am not really happy about this since the only way to load a new file to this receiver is through the serial port cable. I don't have a serial port on my computer...

Is this the way leesatt ships their receivers?????

They have changed the remote a few times on this STB and the one you have is the latest. As you found out it doesn't work with teh unit as is. After loading the laster firmware (035) your remote will function as normal. There is a 035 file that can be loaded without using a remote, you use the loader and a straight through serial cable. Load it as you would a factory file. Choose the All Chunks option and then change the extension you are looking for to *.* and locate the all chunks bin. It will take a minute to load and you might get an error message at first, ignore that message and continue.

Since you don't have a serial port get a usb to serial adapter and connect the 2 and follow above instructions.
