Pinwheel firmware findings here

we should post all the firmware findings here all in one spot neat and tidy lol... how is the firmware working for you??

had firmware 2.4 went up to 2.51 video quality really sucked fuzzy pic went back down to 2.4 very noticeable improvement now today 2.6 video seems to be good so far on the few channels iv checked out

I agree. I tested my Jynxbox and the Pinwheel side by side. The Pin Wheel has a softer picture quality on HD content. SD content there are some artifacts being display.

I still have to test out v2.6 to see how things are now.

I do noticed the Jynx box SD picture is far more superior to the pinwheel SD picture. However hard to say a difference between HD picture in both boxes. When considering AV options Jynxbox has many many options like native, source etc where we can play around to get the best picture possible where as pinwheel has only limited three options. It would be nice if these options are addressed in the future firmware updates and I have no doubts will be one of the best receivers.:yes:

ok i have a mini and i have been fooling around with firmware i have tried the 2.6 ,2.51, 2.4,2.3 and 2.2
out of them all the one that works best for me is the 2.3
2.6 two servers on seems to freeze, sd picture lacking
2.51 sucks buggy
2.4 seems ok but a little freezing two servers
:no:2.3 seems to have the best sd video quality and hd is very nice for me no freezing issues two servers
2.2 not as nice sd video as 2.3
so the one that seems to be the best for me in overall picture quality both SD and HD and no freezing issues with two servers is 2.3 and i have a Sharp 52"

I am truly hoping that 2.7 will address the use of DPP44/SW44 switches and DP Plus lnb's. I can't join in this conversation anymore than this until they do.....fingers crossed.....

2.8 firmware... the weather bug is still there its rebooting on adding cities

Geeezz. When are they going to address the more pressing bugs. The bev EPG and sw44 are more important bugs than the stuff they fixed in v2.8.

Still no SDK yet team.

Hey guys, from what I can see so far there is a lot to do from 2.8 and on. But this is the fun part and we can keep feeding to the team what we would like if possible. They have done a great job and I'm sure the switch and B*V epg will get fixed soon...next one I hope.

The big thing I don't like is the idea of all channels in the epg. At one point I had over 2600 channels and slow moving around in there until I got rid of them with only 1 sat scanned in. The idea of scanning all the sats from the search button is not good and needs to be fixed to only scan the one sat you last set up in the ant menu. A button on the remote should bring up the sats you have and able to choose one or all which should correspond with the epg. My sv8k for eg. only has epg info from the sat i m on...not from all sats scanned. This feature is already there if you select ok we are given a choice to pick a sat (green button) but that doesn't work with the epg. The delete sat is great but at the same time should delete all the channels with it.

Does anyone know of an option to delete all channels from one specific sat? These are all very basic options that should be addressed that are not in the 2.8 release.
