Many receivers work well powering the dish, some it kills power supplies. Usually the receiver w/ 800ma output needs to be on port 1 as that port powers the dish.

They should work but they both have to be on at the same time

No....Sorry...Only one (1) receiver will power the dish, and thats the one with the highest DC voltage output, an old Dish 301 or 311 receiver (it does not have to be activated) will power the Dish 1000 LNB's just fine if it's on the # 1 LNB port, the Dish 301 or 311 will then put out +19 to +20 volts DC at 750 mA to power the LNB's.

Most (95%) FTA receivers can only supply 500 mA of DC current (600 mA for a bit till the power supply gives out) shorting the D1000 LNB of current will cause switching problems, on the 3 LNB setup (4 with the D1000+) your going to need 200 mA for each LNB plus 50 mA for the internal switch, add another 200 mA for the 118 LNB on the D1000+ setup.

So to avoid switching problems use an old D301 or D311 receiver or the DPP power inserter to run the LNB's. (only use DP or DPP equipment with the D1000 LNB)

A DPP 44 switches power inserter will also work, (you don't need the switch, only the power inserter) it has to be on it's own coax to the # 1 port on the D1000 LNB, this avoids and switching problems with the reciver.

ok here the down low , she has two receivers hooked up using d500 with dpp all clear 97q and 85 s ........then when the d1000.2 is put in place the is very shaky sig and zero q skew & evolution is set and pointing is correct .could it be a bad lnb or not enough power ? THANKS

will not having enough power to the lnb make the lack solid signal & zero q when i now its aimed right ?

terryl when you say dp44 power inserter on its own coax does that mean the first receiver would be on port 2 of the lnb or in line with the with the first receiver on port 1?

If you have a dp44 power inserter, use on port 1 by itself. The first fta receiver on port 2 and the second fta receiver on port 3. Fta receivers do not work well with inline with P. I.

is the power inserter water prof or do i need to make a box

The power inserter goes inside the house/apartment, you need a coax from it up to the #1 port on the LNB, a second coax is needed to run the FTA receiver.

This is because some FTA receivers do not work too good with the DPP power inserter in-line with them.

The receiver is on the #2 port

this is kickin my ass , ok i have the inserter on port 1 offlnb (brand new my the way ) the first receiver on port 2 still no quality have abot 67 signal , have a d500 right next to it all is good 96q and 85 s ...............set up the same way all setting the same.just moving cabel from one to the other and no good

Have seen them mounted underneath the roof eves if your dwelling has them, but you need to remember that it needs to be plugged into a normal wall 120v receptacle to work... best bet is inside next to your data center, computer, receiver, tv, etc.

Dish not aligned?? Need to remember dish 500 and dish 1000.2 need different elevation and azimuth and skew due to 2 lnbs vrs 3 lnbs.

ya i pulled the setting off dish pointer and there pretty much the same setting for 119 as my starting point , i did put on the inserter too still no good , same cables in play i cant under stand how i can hit a d500 no problem but not the 1000.2,

i would think it would be heading somewhat in very colse same directions

It will be about 4.5 degrees off from a D500, on a D500 dish the dish is pointing in-between the two satellites, (110/119) on a Dish 1000 satellite 119 is the center satellite, so use TP 12457R as the TP for finding 119. (TP12457 has the Dish 101 channel on it and is an open channel)

Once you find 119W then skew the dish as Dishpointer directed, this will find 110 and 129.

i will try that 2tor i still leave 119 on port 1 on dc in reciver corect than 110 on 2 and 129 on 3? .......... i do have the inserter on it now and that stabilised the sig but still cantget any Q .....yet ..... lock on 119 yet.
my buddy is going to help with his sat finder when he is free. its just real strange that when i move the d500 around i can find it again real fast , but not this fu@#er ,all just to help a friend lol

also if i find 119 and use 12457 tp do i use that same tp for the rest ,(110,129) ? or do i use the regular ones

whoknows

You can use 224 for 110, 253 for 119 and try 516 for 129. good luck

I just thought i would stick my two cents in.
Please make sure that the mast is perfectly level.
Put a level on the top of it then go 90 degrees and do the same thing.
Save yourself some headaches.
