Solaris without a router or computer involved?

I have a friend that I am trying to help get his solaris going for iks. This is a virgin solaris. He would like to be able to use the receiver without using a router (goo files) or computer (NOI or similar) to connect to the server. After some reading I see that there 6 files in the files section. The newest one being:

Do this one work? And will it get both providers? Can I put this file on a virgin receiver, or do I need to put other files on it first. Or is there a better file for his needs?

If it was my receiver I wouldn't care. I would just put the file on it and find out. But since it is not and he is jtag ignorant, I thought I would ask first. Thanks.

Okay he went with the IKSPRv5.02 file and all seems good for the south provider. Does anyone know if this will work with the north provider?

He updated to 5.04 after I read that it scans 91W. I figured that if it scans in 91W channels it should be able to receive them also. I will find out for sure sometime over the next few days when he gets back to me.

Well it didn't work with the north provider. Of course it could have been operator error, but he couldn't get audio or video. He did get it going with NOI.

Do the new files oceciks2.0 and/or nuevo 6.7 work WITHOUT using noi/computer/router? I couldn't find that info anywhere, just on how to load these files!

The oceciks2.0 works without NOI or router, just supply an internet connection and away you go (but the guide kinda sucks).

Sorry I really can't remember if there was much in the guide or not. He ended up going back to NOI to get the North provider.

My friend had success using the IKSPRv5.04 file for the south provider without a router/computer or NOI

Read these instructions. As a matter of fact it would be a good idea to look through the files section and discussion area. You should never just download a file to your receiver without doing some research first.

Thank you Dualtest bout I did read that bout when I send the file to my box the box goes back to 0000 and after the channel Its not making me put the file in the box I know before I just push the switch from the back and the file was gong in bout now its not going

You can use a router with the DD-Wr-goo3 for Nfusion Nova-Solaris-Phoenix and HD.
