DO not use the webloader to load 3rd party files - you will brick the receiver. Use the serial loader - look in the nf files forum.

Make sure that the RS-232 cable connecting to the receiver is NULL and not straight.

That will all depend on the method that you have selected to use to test iks - there are at least four options.

im gonna use the null cable to the receiver I just waned the easies method that will work? you have any simple ways this receiver seems more complicated than my nanosat that was a piece of cake

StanW
07-25-2013, 11:29 PM
No comparison between the nanosat and nf. nanosat was designed to work with 3rd party servers, nf expired prior to (more or less ) ppl offering/targeting multiple receivers. There are several ways to getting your nf working again - you will have to decide which one suits your needs the best. Time to put on the reading glasses - or wait to be spoon fed.

ya just wanna get it working with a paid server

thank you just don't wanna get sub and waste all the time and money and not have it work

StanW

There are many ways to skin a cat . Getting the receiver going requires hardware/software. We have no idea of where you stand in both areas - doing a bit of reading will get you a good idea of what's available. Someone will probably come along and recommend that you load files that they feel are best - that is not necessarily what will work for you and it might end up costing you money.

thanks for the link but I am still confused so if I just run the newest bin 5.02 isn't that enough I don't understand that noi having to leave the computer on and the other program it talks about changing ips and all that so the newest bin isn't enough
?

I have't been keeping track on recent nfusion developments but the options available to you are (please don't quote me on this) ; NOI - this requires the use of a pc ( with the appropriate software of course) running when using your receiver, stand alone files - which there are several options ( some server related) available (one that you have to pay for - or not if you have a hacked version) and the latest arrival on the scene goofathers files which require your router (see compatability lists) to be flashed with the appropriate software.
To sumorize - noi /3rd party(multiple options)/goo - obviously each option requires multiple files to be loaded to the receiver/pc/router.

ya ive been reading the one which you have to load the boot loader than the bin file I don't see where to get the boot file my wireless router I rent from the provider so don't wanna mess around with it I know I have to pay for the iks and but theres another server I need to pay for Im not to familiar with this noi

StanW
07-26-2013, 02:01 AM
Regardless of method you decide on to test you have to donate to a iks service . All of the options , with the exception of brians bin , are free - all files are available for download in the nf files forums.
Your current dsl modem/router probably will not work with goos files and as you indicated you do not want to mess around with rented equipment. A compatible router can be had for $20-30 on fleabay . Tit can be connected to you current modem.

it's not listed as supported by either dd-wrt or openwrt

so it won't work, and i wouldn't risk flashing it

It has a 4mb flash and a broadcom chipset, so in theory it should work with goo2/3. However goo is based upon a micro (2mb) bin. The micro bin is not listed as an option for this router at dd wrt, however this may be because most people would rather load a mini bin to a 4mb router. I'm betting goo 2 or 3 will work, but there is a risk of bricking it. Of course most people are buying used wrt54g series routers for about $10, so ...........

Ya think I will first try the noi method see if and how that works if not I'll look for a used router
