any one have any tricks to get the vonets VAP 11G to obtain a mac address
I plug mine in and start the program but it will not show my vonets

I think you mean an IP address, as the Vonets is a network interface device and has it's own internal MAC address.

Your router has to be set to DHCP forwarding or dynamic instead of static, that way it can supply an IP address to all equipment attached to it.

Are you attaching the Vonets to a PC first or directly to the receiver?

first you have to connect it to a pc to configure
When I connect it to pc to configure the program that allows you to put in the required info for your preffered wireless will not recognise the the Vonets. If it does then it showes you the mac address of your vonets.
But on many tries I can not get it to see my vonets It searches but will not show in the screen of the loader.

The vonets is really easy to setup. Insert that mini disk in computer/laptop. connect unit to pc/laptop using a power supply, sometimes usb from pc/laptop does not work for power. Make sure the router is broadcasting. Search for networks, select yours. Now here is the catch...encryption type is very important. Some dual encryptions from your router do not work, need to play around on router and vonets settings to work correctly.

Ha got it
with windows 7 once the vonets is plugged into lappy you have to bridge the connections
Works great.
