Skew

Hello guys, got confuse after doing this for a decent time, how do I determine the skew of the LNB standing in front of the dish, example of the sat I got confuse, -25.7, it was like my brain crash, I totally forgot and then trying to remember I mixed everything up. TY in advance TURBO.

As you know Turbo,Skewing the LNB is only done on stationary dishes as motorized will automatically do it for us,,,

Normally the -25.7,,,, will be the degrees of the skew on the LNB,,to set the LNB on the desired point on the Arc of the desired bird,,,,sometimes the degree marks will be found on the LNB holder and sometimes not,,,to the Eastern Arc the skew will be much less then the birds on the Western Arc eg. The skew on the LNB will be greater on 123 W then it will be on say 79 W

In the Northern Hemisphere the skew will always be counterclock wise as you are facing the dish

If you are looking for the mathematical formula,,,,,,I am defenitely not the one for the answer,,,probably a Guru like Terryl,could have the formula as he is an engineer

Eh Turbo, I have the best of all worlds, I have a wideband coroter on my 10' setup- I use my remote to skew tp in.

Thank you all, and Andy thanks with all the info and your photo I started remember how to skew. It really funny, something I knew just flew away from my head, lol I think my biological hard disk is faulty.

Lol, only 35 here but I think after 18 nothing is the same lol. This reminds me a PRican say. lets see if I translate it right. The best hunter can miss the rabbit. Something I am used to do and all of the sudden, last night I forgot, like it was my first dish antenna installation, ty all, I finished the Job today, finally got 200 channels after scan, a lot better then 63 I got first try.

What sat are you referring to Turbo? With that many channels it must be Galaxy 19.
