watching analog cable tv signal with dvb-s2 tuner

can I just plug in my catv cable to the dvb-s2 tuner. will it work

In short, NO, don't do it, wrong type of signal.


If you have digital cable then you need a different tuner, even analog cable is different then off air TV, the channels above TV channel 13 are on different bands.
