converting openbox to linkbox8000

i see that both openbox and linkbox8000 uses .abs file....now the question is,can we convert openbox to linkbox8000?

I tried that with a tiger T6 firmware, I now have an openbox s16 door stop, the bad part is I was not trying to convert it, I put the wrong usb in the S16 and it loaded then it was dead,LOL.

Don't know why you would want to convert, but the question you should ask is not what the file name is, but what chips are inside the box. There are lots of openbox models, they don't all use the same processor, flash or RAM memory and the tuners can be different too. There is a thread at another site where one guy has tried a number of diff files on his x2 openbox, many have worked for him, though he often has to defeat some test on a "sucurity" chip and usually the tuner does not work properly. So, open up your box and make a list of what chips are in there and what tuner is, then try to find list from the box you are interested in running code from or try to find pics of inside the box and see if you can read the part numbers to get a list.
