I just got my Ultra and have some questions. What is the purpose of the external remote eye? Is it some kind of IR blaster?

How do you reset the clock to regular time instead of 24 hour time?

there is no 12 HR clock, if the remote don't work well then use the wire, I don't think the wire helps,JMO.

The remote wire is good if you have your stb in a cabinet out of site. (which i do)but i do not use the wire as i have a Harmony 890 with RF extender.

Hmmm, that's a good question and I don't have the answer, next time I take the top off my jynx I will look.
