A friend of mine loaded 239 on his v2. Instead of recanning his channels in , he loaded a channel list he saved from his reciever from 237. All the box does now when turned on is show a red light . Hes tried using the loader with a usb to serial adapter , but no mattyer what he does he gets the message from the loader that says; Open Serial Port..
Sync to serial port..
Target not connect or target is error status "
What could he possibly be doing wrong ?

I think you need the factory file and loader then select all chunk, there is a how to here in the guide section for bricked receiver.

Does the loader actually connect to the serial port , using the correct port - is it visible in device manager.?

Just a thought...... pull the JB200 and see if the box continues to boot. When you screwed up the database, you confused the JB200 and its killing the boot cycle. Pull the JB200. Then the box should boot up ok and complain about no tuner. Now you can shove a factory bin into it, a couple factory resets, then load 233 or 239 and do a couple more factory resets. When all this looks good, put the JB200 back in and see if it boots without any database. You should be good as gold.
By all means DO NOT LOAD CHANNEL LISTS INTO THIS PUPPY! More users misconfrikulate their boxes this way. By all means don't be lazy. Learn to scan the channels in yourself. Dick makes enough changes and your channel list won't be good for long anyway. In fact, until they fix this box, you should just do a manual TP-by-TP scan with network=off and be done with it.
P.S. If you put in the JB200 after all that and it crashes, you got a bad JB200 on your hands. Call your dealer for a new one.

Well good thing for local dealer support, glad issue was resolved, most have to deal with suppliers and shipping services for any action.
