Nfps shutting down the codes bought from unauthorized resellers such as Nokia.

I am one of the victim.

I don't think the OP is blaming NOKIA , but by looking at other posts on multiple sites , seems like NFPS & Rockets are killing lots of codes from resellers , and referring them to the reseller in question .

Both Sites Rocket and NFPS want any reseller who P/U codes from their prospective sites ..to get in touch with those sites they got there Don,s from so those various Don,s can be verified....and once they are verified those Don,s will be reactivated ..as was stated back on 1-12-12 in about thirty days this event would take place...as the database was compromised ...unauthorized don,s were at this point being sold by those also calling themselves resellers...those who purchased from a reseller are urged to get in touch with whom you made the purchase and request that the reseller get in touch with either IKSRockets.cox or IKSPrivateserver.cox

You're right, but don't help on the hit too much. And its not Rocket official site fault... its resellers from buying from an unreliable source, and made us think it was from the official site. Its our fault on not verifying the source of the deals, and we have banned the resellers for further events..

- why would you NOt name these resellers so the community here and everywhere
is aware?
- why would you choose to DEACTIVATE every code that were in fact still ACTIVE?

- if i buy 10 codes and wish to resell them to friends, why are you automatically thinking

As for the topic at hand clearly the nfps data base was NOT secure enough and the direct reason why they turned out the lights from the end user's that bought port codes from re-sellers and not the home site it sounds like their put out because they did not get ALL the profit but i think 99 % of the re-sellers did in some way in the end pay the home site for the codes that are now useless.

You are right most likely, hopefully it has nothing to do directly with NOKIA.

Still,IMO this has to do with the main service and as many have mentioned the fault lies with them and no one else. They advertized resellers welcome and.... lets face it, have now either claimed they were incompetent in doing that business with them safely or some sort of hack was done because of such business dealings.

Either way it is the people that bought codes thru these authorized dealers/dealer that have to pay?

Unless nfps is going to step up and try to make things right people will assume this is just a cash grab cause they felt they could not wait for active paid customers codes to expire.

It is my understanding, although I haven't seen it officially, is that if the reseller contacts NFPS and proves that the codes are legit then they will still be good. Since Nokia is retired he will not be contacting them.

Here is something to think about. I have heard that some NFPS that were bought from resellers never went down. Also some from Rocket, bought from the person who shall remain nameless here wufass, also never went down. The only thing the people that are still down, at least the ones I know of, seem to have in common is that all use the Rocket port 35944.

PS I have just read that some are also down on 35933. Which makes this even more confusing.

Interestingly I have two neighbours, one acquired from Nokia a R***** port **911 that is still functional, another the following day acquired a coded for R***** port **944 code that was deactivated.

However, my neighbours are not upset, as they have both had their money's worth and more.

Looks like Nfps just confirmed the existance of a mole on their site. It was the most obvious explanation.

They have now posted an 880 page list of stolen numbers on the Zeta website. They also list Nokia in the list of Perps. If my math is correct about 25,000 stolen codes. Strange that they would take so long to notice a fraud of this magnitude.

One site owner claimed he had some red button he would push if Nagra showed up that would destroy everything before they could get their hands on it. Some people actually believed that or thought it could work. That owner ended up co-operating.

well just to blow your theory out of the water and there is a helluva lot of people on this site that can vouch for me on this. I knew Nokia since he first appeared on the scene. In fact his first staff position was on a site I was admin at and that was quite a few years ago.

Ok the readers digest version is we had a major disagreement on a number of things and we went toe to toe a number of times on numerous sites including this one. LOL don't believe me look in the past posts ROTFLMAO

Now whether we liked each other or not is a moot point. There is still that mutual respect there as that is the way staff rolls on these sites.

Anyway when the **** went down with Wuf I Pm'ed Nokia and told him what I would do if I was him. My advice was just walk away and don't look back as you had a good run. His response to that was maybe that would be a good idea and a few days later he was gone.

Now I am not taking any kind of credit for the fact he is gone and maybe he was already considering it or heard the same advice from other people as well. Maybe he did scam customers, maybe he uis being used for a scapegoat. I really don't know. My own personal opinion is the IKS providers can't take responsibility for their own screw ups and decided to try and hang someone else out to dry.

In closing I will add this. Either Nokia did totally walk away from this or he has a tough hide to put up with this crap. If I was in the same situation and lurking around I would have reamed a few of you morons a new ******* you could have parked a 747 in sideways

5 of my 7 Nokia-codes are listed in the stolen pdf. They work again at the moment but surely wont for long with the impending re-shut down coming.
Whatever...it was my own risk to take, I'm not pissed at Nokia - but I'm def. not paying again & replacing them with NFPS codes.

How would anyone know if he kept records or not. I have seen so many claims in years past only to turn out not to be true. One site owner claimed he had some red button he would push if Nagra showed up that would destroy everything before they could get their hands on it. Some people actually believed that or thought it could work. That owner ended up co-operating.

I probably would have done what Nokia did - up to the point I realized the server people found out I was selling stolen goods. I would not have gone into hiding nor kept the profits from my screwed customers. Simple enough to PP the profits back. Heck he had already made a killing selling codes all over the place. The fact of hiding and keeping the loot implies guilt in my book. So as usual, it's not so much the crime but the cover up that's worse.

Nokia's 'retirement' had red flags all over it after the Wuf situation. I would not be surprised one bit if SI is all over his PP account and the letters are forthcoming. And I wouldn't blame him one bit if that's the case. If I and my family were faced with financial ruin or cooperate, I'd cooperate as most would.

Bashing another member is an offense subject to banishment at damn near every website I've ever belonged to, and well it should be.

I know which reseller I bought from, and which service screwed up with its security. I am buying from a different service now that has had no complaints or very few on here. I AM paying more but as the saying goes you get what you pay for!! I paid for a year and got just over 1 month of service in which time it covered itself. resellers themselves are a method of protection as it avoids a direct paper trail between the server owners and the enduser, but it is a double edged sword as well. It also works as another link in the chain. Every link is another weak point as well.

99i% of these endusers don't give a damn about whether what they are doing is illegal or not. All they want is their precious TV for free or as close as possible. So until the droves of idiots get it through their heads that making posts like,

"my rocket went down can a reseller PM me?"

resellers themselves are a method of protection as it avoids a direct paper trail between the server owners and the enduser, but it is a double edged sword as well. It also works as another link in the chain. Every link is another weak point as well.

99i% of these endusers don't give a damn about whether what they are doing is illegal or not. All they want is their precious TV for free or as close as possible. So until the droves of idiots get it through their heads that making posts like,

you see that is the problem. The resellers never left anybody high and dry. they sold codes and codes that worked. If the codes were stolen how did they ever get activated on servers to begin with? They had to be approved somehow or anybody could have just entered any 14 digit number and connected to the thing.

Then at a later date somebody else turns the codes off. The only ones saying they were stolen is the guys that will benefit from reselling a new one hmmmmmm ...

Nokia..was and is a stand up guy ..He passed along Don.s to others..Just as other,s Had and Have done ....He at the Time Got what He perceived to be good valid Don,s...and moved them along to those that wanted them...He was Taken advantage of just as much ..if not more than those he passed those Don,s on to in the community...there are those who want to post before they do some research...if a reseller kept your info and he,s taken down..were would you be ...posting in another thread I gotta letter...NO one is to blame except those on the server end SUNS..as obviously there the ones who log the database to the server..to get the enduser the magic in your respective receivers..the ones on the server end had a fallout on who,s who..Don.s were taken from the database by one of the op,s of the server..sold ...moneys were not divded among the other op,s of the server...once this was discovered...the server op,s .started looking at each other and as they looked into where the outgoing versus the incoming...well they discovered where the missing Don.s went...and who was responsible..IT.Was not a Reseller or Enduser....

My friends neighbor has codes from the betarushsale. Four codes. The two for N*PS work, but do not show up in the checker. The two R***ets do not work. They too do not show up in the checker. Why? Have they just not gotten to taking down all the ones stolen, or is it possible betarushsale could have both compromised and un-compromised codes. Oddly, why so some codes work, but they do not show working in the checker.

That's what they say, but I see that the server just freed up 23000 connections and are running with minimal freezing. NFPS and Rocket just overnight created the capacity to take on thousands of new accounts without having to upgrade on the hardware.

Getting back to my original response is that I believe this whole thing is a complete hoax and don't believe for a moment that someone was able to go into the main DB and stole some 23000 codes. I would be more inclined to believe if that was possible, the so called thief also broke into the DB and stole all transaction purchase records from those who bought direct and all of the IP addresses that are connected to the servers on a daily basis. If you steal that many codes, it would also be smart to steal things that you can use as your trump card when your partners come after you.

These servicers are a group of people behind a computer somewhere in this world, so it could just be that the majority of these "other $P" are owned and operated by the same NFPS/Rocket group. With this in mind, they wouldn't give a crap if someone says I don't trust NFPS and I will buy my service somewhere else. LOL, the money will just recycle back into their pocket.

If your gong to make a public statement that codes were stolen than why can't you show how you came to that conclusion. Instead they say it will be dealt with.
