Hi,

Is the Jynxbox Ultra worth getting if I'm not going to be using it as a media box player? I have my computer hooked up to the TV, so I don't really need the file play back (mkv, divx) abilities it has.

Also, does it come with a HDD for the PVR abilities, or do you have to buy one and put it in?

The Jynxbox Ultra requires a connection to an exterior USB drive or Micro SD card to play back media, or for recording off the satellite, OTA, and for PVR. Currently it does not do a very good job as a PVR (timeshifting or pause). You don't need to install a internal drive (in fact you can't!).

So Micro SD or external HDD is needed for PVR, but you say it doesn't work very well. For someone who doesn't want the media playback capabilities, and is very interested in PVRs, I guess Jynxbox is not for me? Would anyone recommend another receiver over Jynxbox for 110w and 119w?

All new pvr models require a outside HD of some fashion. Either USB stick or external hard drive. There are a couple issues some are having using the pvr function at the moment which is simply file based which Jynxbox coders are working on.
