on can pick up the old VS's, 9000hd and Maxhd for not too much on fleabay, you would need a xfta router or leave the computor on

I agree......VS9000 is old school, but one of the best for prime HD

I personally wouldn't go old school as those receivers are dated and they take some knowledge to get them going. Is your Aunt tech savvy or not, as that should also be considered. If she isn't then guess what, she's gonna be calling you every time something goes down. With a VS9000, you have the XFTA factor and that's just another piece that can malfunction and cause headaches.

If I were to buy an HD receiver today, it would be Dreamlink. Now of course, you Aunt actually has to be willing to cough up the coin for it, but if she is, then that's what I would go with. HD receivers nowadays are relatively cheap in comparison to a few yrs ago, thus I don't see much value in the old school route.

if she doesn't have to have hd, then the nanosat premium works great with nfps, and very easy to setup.price very good also.

Why not part with one of your stb's and purchase a new jynxbox to add to your collection? Or maybe a limesat? It's always nicer to upgrade your setup then to get a little jealous over your aunt's upgrade...

Happy Testing!!!

Relative cheap in quality as well. I have the LS HD Air and would not recommend it.
