Hello gang, have 2 5.5' offset dish, one is Azure shine and the other one is the one called tod@ys brand, both are metal, thinking of installing an engine, not an actuator, but no clue wish is the proper one for the size and weight of this dishes, thanks in advance TURBO
Can't wait for Costa's opinion

Considering the 5.5' size, these dishes can't be too heavy so an 18" actuator would suffise but I would go with a 24" jack so you can get more of the arc. I've never dabbled in motors other then actuators so I wouldn't be able to comment on that Turbo. I wish I was as handy as you are my friend.

Thanks my friend, I still have the idea fresh in mind 2 years a go, on how to adapt an actuator to an offset dish, maybe I 'll try that instead of a motor............................Thanks Costa

An actuator as Costa mentioned would be the only choice for that size of a dish, a motor like what is used for the small Ku band dishes to turn that size of a dish would be very costly.
You would need a polar mount like what is used for the "C" band dishes, I think you can get one like what is used for the 6 foot BUD's.
Something like this.

At youtube search this tittle "Mistersat's Dish (Gibertini 150cm offset)" you'll see the double actuators.
Thanks Terryl, I am drawing something that looks like the polar thingy you mention. But I'll need 2 actuators.
