password & des key

My nano 2 wont allow me to imput more than two numbers into the password box & the des key box is set to default and for some resone i cannot change it what am
I doing wrong it has worked fine for years.

What you will likely have to do is re-convert it back to a NANO 2, then back to an I-link to get it to work again, GOOD LUCK!
