Increase Signal Strength

I have an iphone4 and sometimes I have low signal strength and drop calls, does anyone have ant ideas to improve my signal or something I can buy to add to the phone to make it better. i have heard of add on signal boosters. Do they work? Any iphone users please help.

If you have the 4 and not the 4s, it may be due to the antenna issues they had with the redesign of the 4. My advice: upgrade! :D
