The Toronto Argonauts announced on Wednesday that they have extended the contract of linebacker Jason Pottinger through the 2011 season.
Originally acquired from the B.C. Lions prior to last season, Pottinger had 18 total tackles and one sack while playing primarily on Toronto's special teams unit.
"I think Jason has a bright future in front of him," said Argonauts general manager and VP of Football Operations Adam Rita. "He's been a consistent special teams player and has the potential to get in the rotation at the LB spot. We expect him to have an even more productive year in 2010 and work to become a starter in the near future."
The 26-year old native of Whitby, Ontario will be entering his fifth season in the CFL.
