Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have re-signed kicker Alexis Serna.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Alexis is going into his third season with us and we have seen great progression in the past two years," said Bombers interim VP of football operations Ross Hodgkinson. "He's a great guy to have around our locker room and a very solid kicker in this league. I look forward to even better things from him as we move forward."
Serna has spent the past two seasons in Winnipeg. He was fourth in the CFL in scoring during the 2009 campaign with 161 points, converting 40-of-49 field goal tries and each of his 34 point-after attempts.
"It's a privilege for me to re-sign with the Bombers and continue my career in Winnipeg," said Serna. "I'm really looking forward to the 2010 season both personally and for our club. The organization has been great to me and this was a very easy decision. I enjoy the city, the fans are great and the club is very good to me. I'm thrilled to get this deal done."
Serna was the Lou Groza Award winner as the top collegiate kicker in 2005 at Oregon State. He finished his career as the Beavers' all-time leading scorer with 384 points.
