guys, looking for some thoughts on new setup. I have two receivers in the house. Dreamlink HD downstairs, and Nanosat Se in Bedroom, i want to loop out one of these to the living room to have TV in living room. i understand same channel will be on, that is fine. the downstairs I have coaxial running up to living room, however tv in living room has one coaxial input, which is currently connected for OTA. so can't just loop out into it. I have a RF modulator but I don't think you can go coaxial out (LNb out) of dreamlink to rf modulator then rca to tv in living room. I think it goes in the reverse with a modulator rca then coaxial to tv?

the nanosat SE i am tight for space to loop out much even though it it less than ten feet away, I would love to loop out a HDMI or component cable, but to much work as the space between walls is a xxxx, and i don't want to drill any holes.

anyways looking for suggestions.

If the only available input to the livingroom tv is a 75ohm coaxial, use an a/b switch.
This could be an option for the component cabling if you wanna run cat5:

Be warned:picture quality via coax sucks.

i have a older person using this tv so a/v switch would be a problem, to much work. that link did not work, luckylarry.

FTA Sat receiver are not designed to use the loop out unless "one" receiver is shut off..
Also unless u have the correct coax .. it will not work well either.
Yes the link works just fine of u copy and past the link into your location bar and replace the hxxp with "http"
the x's were used to kill a live link as live links are not allowed on satfix unless they are internal.

so getting back to the rf modulator, can I go coaxial out to rca or is rca out from one receiver coaxial into the other?

rf modulators are usually used to connect dvd players to older tv's without rca (composite or component) inputs.
I think the lnb out connector that you're talking about cannot be hooked up to a tv.
The way I'm reading it is you're trying to hook a second tv up to a receiver. If the receiver does not have a tv out (channel 3 or 4), you could try hooking a vcr to composite then go with coax out to second tv.

The RF modulator will take your video (yellow RCA jack) and audio (red/white RCA jacks) and convert them to a TV channel, most run on Channel 3 or 4, some you can get that will allow you to use any TV channel or CATV channel.

You then run the RF output through a coax to the second TV set, or some of the more expensive ones will use a 5.6 GHz signal to get the channel to the other TV set.

It will only work for what ever station your watching on the FTA receiver.

I have setup two satellite receivers at one location, (two coaxes, one to each receiver) and due to no way to run the coax from the primary location, we used the 5.6 GHz modulator and an IR to RF to IR converter to remote control the second FTA receiver.

It wasn't the best setup, but it worked.

Here is a 5.6 GHz setup.

It's possible to take the output of an RF modulator and combine it with an OTA antenna feed. The easiest way to do this is to use a regular cable splitter installed backwards, with the modulator and the antenna connected to the splitter's outputs, and the input connected to the TV.

You should (must?) have a high pass filter installed on the antenna, for two reasons. The first is to prevent the modulator's signal from being fed to the antenna and broadcast to the neighborhood, and the second is to remove any interference.
