so it's gonna be day two here in BC of hands free cell phones in our cars,i must say it's different as i'm a contractor so being on the phone is part of my job.Went to the mall over the weekend and the bluetooth devices were the hot sellers,i guess people realized that 3points and $167.00 fine was enough to get them off their phones while driveing.
Is anywhere else in north america like this with this hands free driving

It's not a law where I live, but I have a bluetooth. The only two wrecks I have ever been in happened while I was distracted on a cell phone. Really, even with the bluetooth, some of the phone functions should only be done while parked. :)

They are enforcing the no cell phone law while driving here in Saskatchewan as of Jan 1,2010.Experienced drivers can use a hands free device only.
The fine if caught will be $280 and four demerit points .Ouch, but it is needed as kids are texting while driving and causing accidents.

B.C. is giving drivers a grace period until February 1st, when the fines will come into effect. Hands-free devices will still be permitted , but new drivers will be banned from using such technology.
